There is a sprawling vision of America…a vast expansive vision of endless rhizomic highways and fields of dried blood histories, mountains unclimbed, untintimitable stories in old heads untapped. Freedom as in FREEDOM as in you, me, her, him, WE, gaping, insecurities, billboards, doubt, joy, rivers,fauna whirling together in the American travelers minds’ eye part and parcel of the true American Mind Expanse. There is, on the other hand, a vision of America, a vision of inchoate darkness and unsurity, a vision of tenuous shadowy forebodings/ misgivings/ impositions/ sinewy darknesses/ incommensurable duress in joyless mystic passage ways on the ether/ from the hard joyless skyline of New York to the humid, mucky dogmatic choke of the deep South. An America whose rivers and people do not shout spontaneous creation and joy but the grey depravities of addiction, squalor, and piss. And finally, there is an America which lies sadly somewhere in between. A sprawling complexity riddled with OUR own depravities and life affirmation side by side congestion winds losses yr girls and boys side by side tethered back endlessly to our sad anchors, jobs, achievements, boys/girls, tattoos, album release shows, misgivings, schooling, going away parties, CUZ how can you not come back? And how can you be free when you are stuck in between thee two vision of America? In middle america as it were… and this is where the VACATION CLUB boyz find themselves. Two gentle foreign guides, not party to any misgivings but brothers nonetheless…A little beaten down succumbing to their own addiction and differences and petty little boys lost on misunderstandings that we will supposedly laugh at tmrw… but if not? It is was intimated to me that there have been changes in the VC camp, breakdowns, movings on, arrested development, … love…and maybe it means nothing at all to you but at least that’s how it was told to me…

The four young braves in VACATION CLUB requested that I pen this update. Now, I’m not much for elaborating myself but I will do my damndest to intimate what (they say) has been going on. So, word is, the local fuzz in Tuscaloosa couldn’t take the heat and so found it in their most honorable of powers to banish these young roughs outta the fine state of Alabama. After that, well uh, learned a lil about how to handle yr drugs, art school gurls, and sweating it out in the deep south. Currently find themselves trapped in Cocoa Beach with the most gracious of hostesses and en route to Miami, the city where powdered drugs and fake tits were invented. Me? I gotta stay put but like it or not I think I’ll see ‘em around.

Oh, and they’ve got two long hairs in tow with ‘em as partners in crime/life brothers so I wouldn’t be sooprized if you learn a thing or two about chakras/extreme weed smoke when they (hopefully don’t) come thru yr town.
